Dan Carlascio is one of today’s foremost EMS educators. Known for his success as an educator and public speaker, he is an advocate for paramedic practice.
Dan brings real world experiences and practical applications to the classroom that needs a no-nonsense approach to the application of emergency medical service.
Dan speaks from a lifetime of accomplishments and first hand experiences. During his 45 year career in EMS, he has been a paramedic in the U.S. and Canada for fire-based and private EMS provider agencies, a flight-paramedic for two hospital-based rotor wing air medical programs, has been director of Loyola University Medical Center’s nationally accredited paramedic program, director of the critical care paramedic (CCEMTP®) program franchise at Loyola, co-developer of the popular “Airway Obstacle Course®”, and a past adjunct faculty member at the Morris Hospital Paramedic Program, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (MD) County and the Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland (OH).
He was a clinical application manager for the Emergency Care and Resuscitation division of Philips Health Care North America covering 14 Midwest US states and Canada and currently advocates for better mechanical ventilation in the EMS space with Hamilton Medical Inc.
His travels have taken him across the country and around the world. He has been a keynote speaker at regional, state and national-level EMS conferences, and part of the US faculty that brought PEPP® and BTLS ® (ITLS) classes to the nation of Italy. Teaching assignments have also taken Dan across Canada, and to the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago near South America.
Dan was a national faculty member of NAEMSE Level I and Level II EMS Instructor Courses. Dan was elected by his peers as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of EMS Educators.
