Speaker Bio
I am an academic pediatric emergency physician focused on advancing how we care for children across both emergency departments and the prehospital setting. I serve as Co-Chair of Wisconsin EMS for Children (WI EMSC), Pediatric Medical Director for the Dane County EMS ALS Consortium, and faculty in the University of Wisconsin Department of Emergency Medicine EMS Section.
My work centers on building systems that make high-quality pediatric care accessible everywhere—especially in rural and resource-limited settings. Through WI EMSC and regional EMS partnerships, I am focused on expanding pediatric readiness, improving medication safety, and strengthening provider confidence through practical, high-yield education and simulation.
At the county level, I work with a growing EMS consortium to standardize pediatric training, enhance case review, and implement scalable quality improvement initiatives. At the state level, I am helping lead efforts that integrate education, equipment, and data-driven QI to create sustainable improvements in pediatric outcomes.
Looking ahead, my focus is on closing gaps in rural pediatric care through innovative training models, including simulation and tele-education, and expanding programs that address emerging needs such as pediatric mental health emergencies. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that every child—regardless of location—receives safe, effective, and timely emergency care.
