Jamie M. Thorpe is a dedicated EMS Instructor and seasoned fire service professional with over a decade of frontline experience in emergency response, education, and public safety leadership. Currently serving as an EMS Instructor for the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management, Jamie brings an extensive background in both instruction and operations, striving to mentor the next generation of emergency medical providers with excellence and integrity.
Jamie began her fire service journey in 2008 and has served in progressively advanced roles, including Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, and now Captain of Training at the Hales Corners Fire Department. Her experience spans municipal, county, and regional levels, with additional service as Vice-President of the Somers Fire Department Association, a member of the Kenosha County Special Rescue Team, and Secretary of the Kenosha County Memorial Team.
With a deep commitment to continuous education, Jamie is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire and Emergency Response Management at the University of Oshkosh. She also holds an Associate's degree in Fire Protection and a diploma in Paramedic Technology from Gateway Technical College, along with a Critical Care Paramedic certification from Northcentral
Technical College.
Jamie is extensively credentialed, holding over 150 certifications, including Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II, Technical Rescue Awareness, Blue Card Command, Incident Safety Officer, and multiple AHA and Red Cross instructor qualifications. Her previous roles in emergency communications—including as a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator and EMS Communicator—further underscore his multifaceted expertise in emergency operations. A firm believer in servant leadership and lifelong learning, Jamie is passionate about building confident, competent responders and strengthening the resilience of communities through high-quality EMS education.
