Dr. Nichole Berge is a firefighter-paramedic, EMS Director, and educator with over 15 years of field and teaching experience. She holds a PhD in Higher Education Leadership with a focus on EMS innovation and education. Dr. Berge has presented nationally on evidence-based airway management emergencies, including EMS World EXPO and NAEMSP. She serves as an adjunct faculty member at Ohio University and teaches EMS courses through EMT Utah. Her research and field work center on improving prehospital outcomes through education, protocol development, and real-world application—especially in airway ventilation. She recently received the Utah Valley Hospital Excellence in EMS Award and leads training and mental health initiatives within her department. Dr. Berge is passionate about advancing EMS through research, collaboration, and culturally competent care.
