Dr. Alexandra Lacey is a Burn Surgeon at the Regions Hospital Burn Center in St. Paul, MN. She specializes in Critical Care, surgery, rehabilitation and reconstruction for burn and frostbite patients as well as patients with various other skin conditions.
Dr. Lacey attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors in 2014. She completed her general surgery residency at Hennepin County Medical Center specializing in trauma, burn and critical care. She went on to complete a critical care and burn fellowship at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Burn Center. She worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a Burn/Acute Care/Trauma and SICU surgeon and was active in resident education and curriculum development.
She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Nutritional Science.
In 2022 she accepted a position as a Burn Center attending at Regions Hospital Burn Center.
Dr. Lacey is considered an expert amongst her peers in the treatment of Frostbite injuries. She has many publications on the treatment of frostbite injuries and the surrounding sequala. Most recently she served as the Course Director on Frostbite: Current controversies and care at the American Burn Association’s annual meeting in 2023.
She is an avid roller derby competitor and has competed in many roller derby bouts since medical school. She also enjoys spending time skiing and biking with her husband and 2 boys.
