Description
Simulation facilitators are not always trained in best practices, which can lead to "training scars"—negative habits formed during simulation that hinder real-world performance. This workshop offers a comprehensive exploration into strategic facilitator development and the innovative application of micro-credentialing to combat these issues. Participants will learn to identify the origins and consequences of training scars and evaluate a multi-pronged approach for their early identification and prevention. The session will equip attendees with actionable strategies to design institutional roadmaps for facilitator development, fostering a more engaged and effective simulation workforce.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, the participants will be able to:
1. Analyze the multifaceted origins and consequences of "training scars" within simulation-based education, enabling participants to identify these issues in their own programs.
2. Design a comprehensive roadmap for simulation facilitator development within their individual institutions, incorporating components for novice to advanced simulationists and strategies for micro-credentialing.
3. Develop actionable strategies for gaining stakeholder buy-in and securing essential support for implementing facilitator development and training scar mitigation initiatives.
