Description

Emergency responders, police officers, and firefighters are at an elevated risk of experiencing moral injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and cumulative psychological distress. This presentation introduces integrative, trauma informed interventions, particularly expressive arts therapy and somatic healing modalities to support emotional recovery, restore identity, and address spiritual wounds. This presentation draws upon the work of Grand (2013), Dill (2023), Levine (2010), Van der Kolk (2014) and the session equips participants with practical tools that promote resilience, regulation, and post-traumatic growth in emergency service settings.
