The 101 level course is an introduction to grant writing on the local, regional, state and federal level from both public and private resources. This course is aimed at all levels of services from small, volunteer agencies to larger suburban units. The Grant writing 202 course will be on Friday and will cover the follow-up work necessary for larger grant dollars, such as accountability, federal compliance, how to work with neighboring services to build regional applications and the use of social media to appropriately work with donors to celebrate fund raising successes.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, the participants will be able to:

1. Have an understanding on the grant process, including benefactor considerations and how to satisfy these.
2. Assess their organization, including honest review of mission and practices, community descriptions and services needs versus service wants.
3. Provide a basic background in writing and literature styles and how to incorporate these into successful grant applications.
