Timothy A. Smith, BA, EMT-P is a healthcare and emergency medical services leader with more than 44 years of experience spanning hospital administration, EMS operations, air medical transport, education, and executive leadership. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Administration from Midway University and is currently pursuing graduate studies through the University of Kentucky Martin School of Public Policy and Administration.
Throughout his distinguished career, Tim has served as an EMS Director, paramedic, educator, consultant, hospital clinical manager, and air medical operations leader. He has directed complex healthcare and emergency service programs, including management of a $23 million air medical budget, development of a seven-helicopter critical care transport network, and implementation of innovative quality improvement, patient safety, and workforce development initiatives.
Tim's leadership experience encompasses strategic planning, operational management, financial stewardship, organizational development, and clinical excellence. His efforts have consistently focused on improving patient outcomes, enhancing system performance, and advancing the delivery of emergency and critical care services.
A passionate educator and mentor, Tim has spent decades teaching and developing EMTs, paramedics, and healthcare professionals. He has designed simulation-based training programs, provided EMS consulting services, and contributed to the advancement of prehospital care through leadership development and workforce education. He currently serves as a paramedic with Erlanger Fire & EMS and as an EMS Lab Instructor for St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Gateway Community & Technical College, where he helps prepare the next generation of EMS professionals through hands-on clinical, laboratory, and simulation-based education.
