Jonathan Merrell, MD is a blend of physician, engineer, educator, and entrepreneur. After completing a degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia, Jon went on to medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Pediatrics residency brought Jon and his family to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2013. Jon worked for 11 years as a pediatrician, innovation leader, and educator in neonatal resuscitation and hospital-based pediatrics before hanging up the stethoscope in 2024 to devote more time to his company, Compact Medical. Jon and his wife are the parents of 4 amazing children, including a daughter with Down Syndrome. In his free time, Jon enjoys volunteering with his local congregation.
