Response to agricultural incidents is a low-frequency but highly dangerous type of response that we here in the Midwest need to be prepared for every day. The amount of training that is presently available for the basic provider is very minimal when it comes to their basic education. We have spent over 40 years developing training programs along the lines of how to keep personnel safe when responding to an ag incident, as what has happened to your patient can happen to you. The lecture will cover multiple aspects of farm incidents that are frequently responded to here in the Midwest, including entrapment, toxic atmospheres, specific farm equipment incidents that we respond to often, incidents involving farm equipment on our highways, and general pre-planning of these responses.

4. Identify opportunities to provide prevention in their own jurisdictions to the farm community, better partnering them with their farms.
