EMS leaders are expected to solve problems quickly, give direction and keep operations moving. But the best leadership response is not always another answer, order or explanation. Often, the better move is a better question. This interactive and engaging session will help EMS supervisors, educators, field training officers and chiefs use questions to improve coaching, decision-making, accountability and team learning. Participants will examine how thoughtful questions can uncover assumptions, clarify priorities, reduce defensiveness and help others take ownership of solutions. The session will focus on practical question frameworks that can be used immediately in crew conversations, performance reviews, incident debriefs, training sessions and leadership meetings.
