Description
Though anaphylaxis and asthma are distinct disease processes, they frequently intersect in ways that dramatically increase patient mortality. Recognizing the overlap and intervening early and aggressively can spell the difference between recovery and rapid deterioration. This lecture will look at the complex relationship between anaphylaxis and asthma and provide a structured approach to managing these patients. Through a case study, we will discuss the impact these cases have on our communities and discuss the efforts being made to increase Epi-Pen availability.
