Courtney graduated from Marquette University and started her nursing career in 1999 on LDRP unit at a local community hospital with a level 2 NICU. She earned her Master's degree from UW-Milwaukee in 2008 with a perinatal CNS focus. She is a board-certified Clinical Nurse Specialist and holds specialty certifications in Inpatient Obstetrics, EFM and Obstetric and Neonatal Quality and Safety. She has worked in a variety of organizations throughout SE Wisconsin as a bedside staff nurse, nursing instructor, clinical systems analyst, nursing case manager and as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has presented on a range of topics including management of bleeding disorders, neonatal glucose gel, OB Hemorrhage, hospital practices that support breastfeeding, postpartum opioid reduction, and the implementation of Eat Sleep and Console. She has had the honor to present at a variety of conferences for WISPQC, WAPC, WI School Nurses Association, Building Bridges, Midwest Nursing Research and the AWHONN National conference. Ensuring equitable, high reliability in perinatal care across the continuum for all families is her career long passion.
